I've heard all the hype, I'm looking for actual experiences with it.

I don't have kids, but I've worked in pediatrics for the last 10 years and I've seen and heard of 3 reactions out of all the patients we have seen - all little rashes that went away in a day or two. Considering the number of children that the practice I work for vaccinates weekly, this is a teeny drop in the bucket.
Please don't let anyone discourage you from vaccinating your child, you'll be doing them a world of good in the long run.
If you're concerned about the POSSIBLE autism link to the MMR - which even the Autism Society doesn't find one - it's perfectly acceptable to wait until your child is older to give it to them. Most states just require them to have two of them before beginning Kindergarten, and they can have the first one anytime after their first birthday. It's getting more and more common for parents to hold off giving the MMR until the child is 18 months or 2 years old.

My daughter has had her MMR, she developed a small rash a few days after being vaccinated and had a bit of a fever, but other than that she was fine. I know there is allot of hype out there about the shot, so I discussed it in length with my pediatrician and decided it was safe for my daughter, other than the small side effects we didn't experience anything really bad.

The MMR vaccine usually has a 2 week delayed reaction. Most kids have no problems. One of mine had pain in her knee and had trouble walking for a day or two. It is known to cause joint pain as a side effect.

Mine never had a reaction, not even swelling at the injection site. The only thing that happened was a couple of days after the shot she got a couple/few spots that looked like measles. It's normal. The went away in a day or two. Now that I think about it, I guess that is a reaction. lol.

my daughter has never had any bad reactions to any of the vaccines and when i had my booster when i was a preteen I don't remeber having any bad reactions either. The most she ever had was alittle swelling around the injection site that went down right away...which is completely normal.

don't believe the hype. alot of people will try to scare you out of vacinating. There are cases of bad reactions but that's not the norm.

All of my kids ran a low fever with all of their shots. A little Tylenol and a couple of days and it was gone. I've heard of much more violent reactions, but no personal experience.

I have a friend who's daughter is autistic because of it, I will be happy to put you in contact with him if you email me (i dont want to post his info here)

I refused all my shots after 5 (i never had a choice before that time unfortunately) but I am healthy. I plan to not vaccinate my children

Yes, mine did. He started having convulsions and his temperature soared to 105, but that is no excuse for not vaccinating, the doc gave live bacillus shot the next time, which is more expensive and i had to pay the difference, but it worked OK.

Fever, irritability. Thats about it. Nothing tylenol couldnt solve. It is very important that your baby gets those shots because the sickness will be a lot worse.

my son is five months old. each time he had shots he had a small lump in his legs for a few days where they gave him the shot. in the evening after the shot he would cry for about three hours. we gave him tylenol. i would have to put him in his swing and he would fall asleep. the next day he is fine.
