The only way to guarantee having one sex over the other is to have invitro done, in which they separate the sperm and only use the Y sperm. You can also track your cycles to determine when you ovulate. Typically during the first part of ovulation the chances of getting a girl are better, and a boy later on during ovulation. This doesn't always work though.

There is, but it's very inaccurate. Male sperm swim faster, but don't survive as long. Female sperm stay alive for a day or two longer than male sperm and can travel further. That's a fact you can look up if you don't believe me. So if you ovulate, the egg takes a day or two to get throught the fallopian tube. If you have sex just after you ovulate, the male sperm won't survive until the egg ends it's journey. If the egg is already attached to the wall, male sperm are more likely to reach it first. So basically you have to get one of those temperature wrist things to measure your ovulation, and then time your intercourse to coincide with the sex you want. Female straight away, male a day later.

I do not believe they have been able to do anythihg about pre-programming the sex of a child. It is still random chance. The sex is determined by the male btw, in case you didn't know that.
There is one site I found that claims to be able to help you determine what sex before conception, for a fee. The address is below: http://www.ababyforyou.com/choosing_preg.htm I know nothing about this person, so do your homework well.

I believe not... simply because I am pregnant with my 4th girl. However, I have heard in theory that "male" sperm swim faster but die quicker, and "female" sperm swim slower and live longer. Which means: Know exactly what day you ovulate, have sex the day before and all that day, and not at all the next 3 days. I haven't actually tried this. Good luck!

They say there are things you can eat and such to better your chances, but I think they may just be old wives tales. I would try though!! Do a google search on predetermining the sex of your child.

I am not sure on the validity, but I have heard that there is a better chance of having a boy the closer you conceive to the begining of your period.

Some scientists are researching genetic semen screening processes but its not perfected yet and very expensive. So in answer to your question not yet. Everything else is just an old wives tale.

no unless you have your husband go to donated his sperm but he has to say that he wants a boy and that the sperm can be given only to you. The sperm collection place will separate the X and Y sperm and give you what is appropriate. It will also cost a lot.

y sperms swim slower, x sperms swim faster.
They say if you do everything possible to give them an equal chance the boys can win out.
It worked for my parents, they got two boys from boxers and coffee. and a girl from no coffee and briefs.
lol, but who knows if its true.
