If you liked the movie, you'll LOVE the book.
It's better. They always are.

I LOVE the book Pride & Prejudice but absolutely hated the recent movie version with Keira Knightley. It just wasn't "right". The period feel was all wrong and I thought the way they seemed to show the Bennet family as very poor people with pigs running through the house was shameful-not Jane Austen at all. Of course, I know that this was one man's idea of how the novel should look on screen, but in my opinion it was incorrect. Now if you want to see a really good version of P&P then watch the BBC/A&E version with Colin Firth. Now THAT was an excellent movie/mini series. Definitely read the book, it's wonderful. Jane Austen captures her people brilliantly.

My family likes the book.
I haven't read the book but watched the movie.
The movie appeared to be well made but the plot and conversation were a bit superficial. I did not get the idea or reason why the guy was a really good person. The relationship or interaction between the two leading characters was very inadequately developed in the movie. There was no meaningful exchange between the two. I didn't see the guy as a real person. Even the scene when he was coaching his cousin ( I think) before proposing to the sister of the female leading character was very disappointing. It was a great opportunity to hear the coaching or conversation to have the idea of who the guy was and how he normally talked. Instead, they were just moving their mouths on the wide angle shot.

I like both of the pride and prejudice movies (the bbc version is very good, and the new one is good too) but the book is even more amazing. If you love to read I would def recommend reading the book.

The book is great. You should enjoy it. I recommend watching the BBC version of "Pride and Prejudice" (hey, it does have Colin Firth in it) - I think it is the better version. But the new one that just came out wasn't too bad, just left out some stuff.

I loooved the new movie. fantastic acting, actors/actresses, and great story. I thought the movie was better than the book. The book...just wasn't my kind of reading, because everything was so proper, it was a little too descriptive for me, and the way they talked was just like....so, it depends on what kind of books you like. if you like classics, then this would be a good book. if you like a reallly good page turner, then this might not be as good. I think the new movie was best. Tell us if you read it or not!

I LOVED THAT MOVIE! I tried reading the book, got stuck in the letter (or, in the movie, when they're on the patio and he's telling her about Mr.Wickham). It's a little bit tedious. If you think it's a good idea, try reading the book, but if you don't have to, don't.

It's considered one of the great novels of all time for a reason.

If all you've seen is the latest two-hour movie, you'll definitely discover some more depth to all of the characters by reading the book. Wickam in particular. His part in the plot was severely downplayed by time constraints in the new movie.

Read the book! It is amazing! If you want to see an even better movie than the recent one with Keria Knightly (which I am assuming you are talking about), watch the 1996 A&E/BBC mini series with Colin Furth. It is absolutly fabulous!
