Um, I'm a northerner living as a southerner in Virginia and let me tell you... they don't understand the Northern culture any more than we understand theirs. I remember growing up in the north and people didn't really talk about the south and how different they were from us. But, when I came down here it was Yanks, this and Yank's that. Its kind of odd.

LOL

I was born and raised in Mobile, AL ... pretty much as southern as it comes. While I am constantly offended by the stereotyping (try being a white guy from Alabama .. the last segment of society you can still bash on television) I cannot agree with the first part of your question. I can, in no way, understand northern culture. Hell I cannot even understand the mindset of anyone who could actually live in .. ohhh say lovely sub-arctic Buffalo.

Because every time we northerners try to give the south the benefit of the doubt, they do something stereotypical!
