laura mercier foundation primer is my personal favorite, and it works great for all skin types. I use this on brides for their wedding day, and it helps their makeup stay more true and fresh.

as for the swedish brand called "oriflame" no i've never heard of that line.

for a good facial powder to combat oilies and stay fresh all day, try MAC Blot in pressed or loose formula. I'm also a fan of Becca's loose powders...they're more on the high-end side, but they make the skin look and feel like silk.

I wish I knew what your skin type was and your age? I'll give it my best shot not knowing either.

Younger skin (and when I say that, I mean under the age of 30) can get away with wearing a liquid or liquid to powder finish base. That is providing you do not have oily skin.

Expense is not the issue, the chemical make up of the product is what matters. Make sure that whatever you pick out is non-comedogenic and oil free.

Make sure that you are applying to a clean face and when you are done for the evening you remove every bit of it.

Now for products I would suggest:

Under 30 - I would use the Physician Formula line which can be found in most drug stores. For the summer(depending on your skin tones, see if you can get away with the bronze selections that they carry.) The reason I like this line is because they are mineral based, non-comedogenic and will give you a flawless finish.

If you are looking for a department store advantage: I would go to the Estee Lauder counter and set up an appointment for a makeover. They are free, their products are wonderful skin enhancers. Tell them what you want to accomplish, and let them have at it.

CAUTION..... Don't buy anything you don't need or want, remember they are not only makeup artists they are also salespersons.

My last word of advice to you....If you really want flawless skin, and you really want your makeup to look great when you put it on....Then follow a good skin regimen daily with cleansing, toner, moisturizer, sunblock.

Good luck! Remember Beauty IS more than skin deep.

Foundations Lesson!
OK, anyone reading, remember this: NEVER use a foundation stick unless you happen to work with the theatre or are on TV. It sticks to your face and will clog you up like nothing else.
I bought Mary Kay full coverage foundation to use during my wedding, and it worked great ($20 CDN). You can also get sheer and medium coverage and all are non-clogging and you can choose between foundations for oily/combination skin, or normal to dry skin. I use the normal to dry and it moisturizes but is oil free. I would probably use a sheer or medium foundation for every day, though. With the full coverage, I just sort of spot check my face, I don't spread it all over.
You use a tiny amount, pea sized or smaller and dab it where you need it, using your pointer, middle and ring fingers. keep dabbing until its mostly blended, then use a makeup sponge. They blend great and soak up any extra foundation. wash them regularly so you don't get a build up of oil and bacteria. In fact, if you break out easily, just use a make up sponge, no fingers.
For a powder, I use NYC loose translucent powder ($3 CDN), and I apply with a big brush. If you choose a pressed powder, throw away the little application pad and use a brush.
Make sure you wash your face at night, I use Neutrogena Visibly Clear Gentle Exfoliating Wash ($10 CDN).
Hope this helps and good luck!

Artistry Flawless Coverage Powder Foundation is what you want. It is very high quality. A tip, always take foundation off before going to bed because that is bad for the pores. You can get the foundation here:

Try MAC. Studio Fix it is like a heavy cream but you can put it on lightly or heavily and it will still cover everything....
The reason why the loreal stick is giving you problems is that it will collect bacteria on the actual stick and bacteria will cause the blemishes.
MAC wont clog the pores, you just have to clean your face before you go to bed. (sleep, i mean)

When I have the funds, I buy Origins. I love their products. They have cosmetic counters at many department stores. As for drugstore brands, I like Revlon ColorStay with SoftFlex. It gives really good coverage and stays on. I also like mineral powders. Try Physicians Formula.

let me tell you something first of all, makeup does not have to be xpensive to be great. I haven't heard of the brand oriflame but if you want great coverage try ben nye or kryolan, which covers photo quality! also dermablend cosmetics in jc penny or shiseido in macys, the one of my choice is estee lauder maximum cover is 30.00 per ounce and its the best makeup that will give you a professional appearance and will not clog your pores, also they have an online store, I am hooked on estee lauder cosmetics as I have posted on several answers, but its just my personal preference and I respect other brands. if you want try that one.

Foundation is the only make-up that I buy a 'brand name'. I use Lancome and I love it. Lancome's powder is pretty good but you can get the same result from a cheaper Drug store pressed powder.
Never heard of that Swedish brand.

I love Bare Minerals, i will never go back to liquid makeup
eventhought you spend a little bit more of money but its soooo
worth it... the make up will last for 3 to 4 months, your skin improves tremendously and since your skin looks better it last longer

recommend it 100% . you can buy it from QVC or just going to their website.
