I just quit two weeks ago, and it ain't easy. But, the 12 step program that I use to stay off drugs and alcohol is very helpful with the smoking! And, my attorney reminded me that if I die of lung cancer that my ex-husband will get custody of our daughter. That's pretty good incentive since he is a drug-addicted chimo. GOOD LUCK!

I have been smoking for about 9 years and have the same problem. I thought I might have an allergy to one of the ingredients in the cigarettes. Usually, I do one of two things: (1) drink a glass of water when I wake up and before I smoke and (2) don't smoke till later in the morning, like about 2 -3 hours after I wake up. That usually stops the dizzy feeling.

Quitting is never easy. However, 99% of it is mental. Find things to do that keep you busy and in about two days you will be pumped up so much from not having a cig you will try even harder to not smoke. Just do it. You can do it. Good Luck. I smoked for 23 years and just quit one day and haven't smoked in 6 years now.

I quit by eating sunflower seeds with the shells ( I spit out the shells). I read in one of Robert Rodale's books that sunflower seeds, and especially the raw ones have a chemical in them that is also found in tobacco so it helps curb the desire for tobacco. But I used the roasted, salted ones because that was all that was available in my area. It also kept the hand to mouth thing occupied without adding exhorbitant calories. My tongue and roof of the mouth were sore for a few days but it worked. You should have seen the brown stuff coming out of my pores when I soaked in a hot bath. Gross.
Good luck and stick with it....you can do it.
Are you still dizzy? Better get it checked out.

It could be your blood pressure is high. Women especially have a tendancy to the highest blood pressure right after rising from bed. Smoking makes this worse, and can actually CAUSE a high blood pressure problem.

I would say go to your doctor and tell him you want to quit, he'll be able to get you set up with a group if you want, or patches, a hot line, or something.

Make up your mind to stop. I work for phillip morris through a secondary company, if you smoke their products they offer stop smoking programs.

Stop smoking.
