You can send a read receipt that will notify you when the mail is opened, but that's not a 100% guaranteed proposition - the read receipt will ask the other person if they want it sent.

I will suggest a basic and simple Method. I Use it too...
Just Link a Small Graphic\Page from you website into the Mail
so when ever the mail is opened the Yahoo will call back to that link, Now you just need to track that link, You can generate Unique Ids for this purpose and then you will find if the mail is read by a specific person or not,

Yahoo! Mail does not currently offer a return receipt feature.
