How long is a piece of string -
Depends whether you are looking for content/copy writing or programming, SQL etc. I would suggest that you take a minute to research your problem from the other end in - shop for a job or two then see what is required for those jobs, then call somebody like learndirect (0800 100 900) who can tell you what courses are where and how much, etc ...

Entry level quals:
- BTEC Certificate/Diploma in Art and Design (Multimedia)
- OCR Certificate for IT Users – Level 1 (New CLAiT), Level 2 (CLAiT Plus), and Level 3 (CLAiT Advanced)
City & Guilds E-Quals IT Users awards (7262) – Level 1 (Certificate), Level 2 (Diploma) and Level 3 (Advanced Diploma)
- OCNW Certificate in Information and Communications Technology (Web Design).

Good luck!

Certifications are mostly useless. Ones such as the Prosoft CIW test such basic knowledge that anyone can obtain them with very little study or training.

I'd suggest instead building a strong portfolio and skillset. I don't even inquire about certifications in interviews that I've conducted.
