There is another product out there brand name: Mod Podge -which is an acrylic based glue that dries quickly is water soluble and is very shiny.

The craft of decoupage was very popular in the US during the 70's. I have several items made by my mom and her crafty buddies including a waste basket and coffee table.

If you decide to try it, make sure you use sturdy paper - magazines with thin paper and poor inks tend to run and tear.

Usually one cuts out images and glues them on to the surface of the object chosen. Then glazes the entire item in glue or Mod Podge. You can apply several coats to get a really thick, shiny finish. Some folks added glitter to the mix, but I'm not that fancy.

Have fun!

I think your talking about deco-page. If so, it's glue and water mixed together so you can glue paper to things without seeing the glue. It will dry clear as long as the glue has enough water in it. One project you can do is rip up different colors of tissue paper that you use for wrapping gifts and glue them on a bottle to give the bottle a stained glass effect.
