I once saw a button that summed it up perfectly. It read, "Compassionate conservatism is an oxymoron. Bush is just a moron." Bush may talk about "compassionate conservatism", but as we all know, he doesn't practice what he preaches. I once read part of a book by Molly Ivins called "Shrub". Ivins mentions the case of a woman on death row in Texas named Karla Fay Tucker. Tucker wasn't retarded, but she had been sentenced to death for murdering someone, and while she was in prison, she had become a born-again Christian. And since she was a born-again Christian, she became a cause celebre among the likes of Pat Robertson and his fundamentalist cronies. She had made numerous attempts to persuade the Texas authorities to spare her life, and there are videos of her begging and pleading. When Tucker Carlson, a conservative commentator, asked Bush about it in an interview, even he was taken aback by Bush's reaction. Bush actually MOCKED Karla Fay Tucker! I'm not saying that Karla Fay Tucker was necessarily any more deserving of compassion than any of the other death row inmates, but come on! This was a woman who was pleading for her life! Most normal people would have had a least A LITTLE sympathy for her! But then again, perhaps Bush isn't normal. And why should he be? After all, he's the son of George and Barbara Bush. Barbara Bush's remarks about the Hurricane Katrina victims proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that Dubya didn't grow up with any good models of compassion.

Okay, now let's look at this logically.
If these people had been found mentally incompetent to stand trial they would be in another type of facility.
The so called retarded people were found guilty by a jury of "their" peers, so should we abolish the jury system because they are not very sympathetic?
If they plead guilty outright, they would have just enjoyed life in prison.
You can also feel pretty confident that they were sitting on death row long before then Governor Bush was in office.
So logically it makes no sense.

First - Do you know how easy it is to fake a test on retardation if you WANT to be retarded?
Second - If someone really is retarded and does not know that murdering someone is wrong, then do you want them living next door to you and your children? After all, he means no harm, he just doesn't know any better.
What exactly should be done? If the person is truly retarded, then wouldn't the kindest thing be putting them out of their misery? How is a retarded person supposed to survive in jail?
And, the name calling does nothing to bolster your opinion. It's what grade-schoolers do on the playground when they can't think of anything intelligent to say.

No, i do not hate him. i did not hate bill Clinton, both. i do not hate any of the Presidents. i imagine this is incorrect to hate someone of their position, as their making judgements in a real attempt to extra efficient our usa. It would not continually pass as planned, yet you should contemplate what's at stake, and each of the variables. this is no longer really consumer-friendly, and all people who criticizes a President, and calls him names, is disgustingly disrespectful and irresponsible. that is really consumer-friendly to 2d-guess the guy about the Iraq conflict, and all people who does on the instantaneous shows his/her idiocy. He had distinct help, yet the position is that help now? maximum of them became tail and ran! sure, i'm certain he'd be an exceptional chum, a good fellow to have a lager with. yet he's no longer an fool. i'm certain he's a lot extra knowledgeable than any human beings answering this question... by a options! those of you who call him an fool... I pity you. and that is no longer an insult, so do not attempt to insult me back. I purely pity you. So... that being stated... no, i do not hate the guy. i'm above the idiocy of hating.

You ignorant jerk!
Bush did not kill retarded people, as you so eloquently put it!
It is a state law, as far as the death sentence goes.
If a jury convicted, there was a reason.
Stop putting all these things on here that only solidify the fact that you are a moron...

Did you know that liberals support and praise the killing of over 1.2 million Americans every year? And well over 48 million Americans since the 1970's? Its called Abortion. This doesn't even include the thousands of women that have died from having complications from abortions. And you go and complain about this? Stop being a hypocrite and start working to save lives not destroy them.

Tell me would you feel better or worse knowing that a friend was killed by a retarded person. Diminished capacity is not reason enough to keep a person alive. I support the death penalty for one very simple reason. It permanently protects society from a repeat offense by that person.

Did you know you were an idiot and didn't know what you are talking about. The paople who were executed in Texas, deserved to die because of the crimes they commited. No one who is mentally retarded is going to commit a violent crime and think they are going to get away with it by pleading insanity.

hehe, that is funny saying retarded people are his people, but arent you afraid some of them may be offended by being lumped in with him? They could come drown you in a bucket of gasoline after eating your testicles and raping your kids and since they are retards they wouldnt be punished, where would your sympathy be then?
