Albert Champion

1908 - Albert Champion joins forces with Buick Motor Co. and makes spark plugs in the AC Spark Plug Division. The AC of ACDelco is born.

Delco Electronics Corporation was the electronics design and manufacturing subsidiary of General Motors.

The name Delco came from the Dayton Engineering Laboratories Co., founded in 1909 in Dayton, Ohio by Charles Kettering and Edward A. Deeds.

Maybe the AC comes from their initials...I couldn't find any other solution

Delco is known for their batteries. a/c is just a name. In scientific terms it means alternating current. Hope that answers your question
