well it's really that people now days don't know how to cope. so to not feel sadness they drink, they do drugs, they have sex.
People need to learn to embrace their sadness take the time to figure out what is causing the sadness then ask themselves "can i do anything about this particular matter" if yes they need to stop being lazy and do it, if no they need to give it to fate, God which ever they like best and move on to things in life they can control or change.
We deny our sadness and true emotions to much which is just making everyone fake. This is why people snap in rush hour or at a restrurant, we need to learn to acknowledge ALL our emotions and deal with them in a healthy way

Perhaps they feel that the sadness might overwhelm them and plunge them into despair. Really they should talk to someone who can empathise and get the sad feelings out. They'll start to feel better after they've done that for a while. And they will see more clearly what is going on in their life too.

Emotions are good, I feel sadness when I hear about our American soldiers dying in the middle east, or when old, sick men sexually molest our children, but I know it's a part of our world that I have to live in, until Jesus comes to save us....

they think that in life, they should always be happy. They don't realize that it is not true. In life, we have a reason to be happy and sad at all times.
