Not all Muslims hate Americans.
Of the many people in the world that hate us...I have found it is usually because of our pressure for them to conform to our ways...our society. We tend to push countries to accept stuff like:
our restaurants (like McDonalds)
our clothing
our language
our music
our lifestyle (physically lazy, internationally inept, linguistically moronic)
our religion
etc
Do people hate us for supporting Israel? Well, I have heard they think we are pretty hypocritical in our support for Israel. For example....why was the US against the Berlin wall but a proponent for a while of Israel building one? Why is the US critical of China's "abuse" of human rights and torture when the US is NOT critical of Israel's use of the same?
Re hypocricy- Why do we continue to ignore human rights abuses in Saudi Arabia but not China? Or Iran? Or Iraq? Why not just say "well, Saudi is stable, and friendly towards the US...so, we cut them more slack than we do Iran". ??
Also, our hypocrisy is wider than that. Why did we stop Iraq from abusing their citizens but not Sudan. I believe it was because of oil. And, I am fine with that explanation. For sure, we need oil....but why not just say "we need oil, and because we need oil, we need a politically stable middle east....and, because we need political stability, we are going to create 'no fly zones' in Iraq and reduce Saddam's power."
And now...look at Iraq and North Korea. We are in Iraq to get rid of terrorists and (originally) to stop the production of Weapons of Mass Destruction. Fine. Great idea. Nobody wants WMDs in the hands of nutty extremists.
But why not go into North Korea too? And, why weren't we more critical of nuclear weapons development in Israel?
I think we are critcized and laughed at and hated mostly because of our hypocrisy in international standards. And, its not just Muslims that do the laughing and hating. Believe me....brits laugh at us...french, estonians, russians, lithuanians, italians, australians....the Muslims certainly did not corner the market on seeing our fumbling ways in the international community!

Hate is not for free. Education and religion are important issues here, but also how USA manages foreign affairs is important. For many years Palestina has been suffered for many wrong and stupid politics apply by Israel with the help of USA. A land that they used to own now it's not and they live in refugee camps without a nation and without nobody hearing and for so many years. There is no excuse for killing and massacre, but hate doesn't grow for nothing...

That's part of it.US attacked Afghanistan and Iraq, both Muslim country.North Korea kept bragging that it has nuclear weapons, but US decided to attack Iraq(although UN inspectors said there were no WMD there). Those are the reasons some Muslim hate Americans, not all.

this is a really loaded question, because it assumes that muslims hate americans more than anyone else. most muslims in the world do not hate americans. most muslims around the world just want to be left alone. many people around the world hate americans because of our arrogant foreign policies and two illegal wars of aggression, and many of them happen to be muslim (due to the fact that we are targeting muslim countries to invade)... so it should be understandable that some may hate us for that.
our israel connection doesn't help at all, especially since we aid and support the terrorism against the people of palestine. if americans were really educated to all the horrific terrorism we sponsor, i think we could understand quite clearly why people around the world hate us. the problem is we don't pay attention to all the atrocities we commit, we just turn a blind eye and then focus our attention on the "terrorists" who set off small bombs and call them "terrorists". if we were serious about fighting terror we would stop contributing to it. the war on terror should really be named "the war on terrorism against us", because we have killed many more people around the world than these so called "terrorists" have. when we do it the media doesn't call it terrorism, we continue with our flag-waving, slap a magnetic 'support the troops' stickers on our SUVs, and forget about it. if you really want to understand the war on terror, you should get a copy of chomsky's lecture Distorted Morality. it is available on DVD at amazon for a reasonable price. educate yourself and fight irrational jingoism!
"I think we can be reasonably confident that if the American population had the slightest idea of what is being done in their name, they would be utterly appalled." -- Noam Chomsky

Muslims beleive America is immoral.they think it stands as a threat to their religion. they must destroy America and preserve the moral integrity of the earth. And put burkas on every female, instead of the jeans and skin baring outfits.

It is because our way of life is a threat to them. They hate human rights of any kind. It is important to them to keep women uneducated and in veils. Our culture is attractive to their young people so they are trying to crush it.
