I have the same problem as you only magnified! I'm 37, 5'1" tall, 93lbs. I'm in heels all the time - they are a godsend for the vertically challenged! If you want to look taller, somewhat casual (and not look like an exotic dancer) wear a high heel wedge sandal with a medium platform (under 1-1/2) inch. Make sure the wedge is thin and/or tapered - a high, thin sculpted wedge is really in vogue now - you will be quite the fashionista atop your wedges! If you want a casual look go for a wedge finisihed in wood or a natural fabric. For a more polished look go with a wedge in all leather or patent. ( I have some charles david tiara wedges in red patent that are all the rage. Charles davids - run taller thatn advertised .My Tiara wedges are closer to 5" tall than the 4" advertised on zappos). Try zappos.com - they have everything. Search women's shoes, casual, sandals, wedges, heels over 2 3/4". You can sort the shoes by size, price. They have literally hundreds of options-I'm sure you will find something at whatever price point you want.

Avoid thick wedges with a large platform - you end up looking like Herman Munster!

Wedge Sandles Or High Heel Sandles Look Really Cute With Skirts And Dresses. And Are Also Really In Style.

I would not wear boots with short dresses or skirts, this makes you look shorter. Boots look best when worn with mid length skirts and dresses. I would wear the wedge or candies type shoes. Wedges come in different heights, purchase the ones that you can walk in. Also, cute sandals if it is summer is always appropriate with dresses and skirts. Don't look at yourself as being short, look at yourself as being confident and anything will look good on your feet.

Hey TL, I am 5'3" and my hubby is 6'2"
When we go out I am in a mini skirt and 5" stilettos.
I agree with you that the 71/2" may be a bit much to go out in but I am very comfortable in 5" stilletos and short skirts when we go out to dinner together!
Have fun!

Your safest bet are flat sandals or ballerinas. You are not short, it's him that's tall, but haven't you seen Jessica Simpson or Lindsay Lohan? They are around your height and wear flats. If you wear heels that are too high, you might look slutty with short shorts or skirts

i would suggest tall boots about to the knee, three or four inch heels. really tall heels can scare people(especially if you threaten them with it*blushes and giggles*) my friend is like, a foot shorter than her boyfriend and she is fine with 3 inch heels!
