my car shakes when i'm sittin at a light or stopped and it's not back firing but i know there is a problem with it

It would help to know the make and model of the car. If it's an older car, it could be problems with the spark plugs, the wires, the distributer, etc. It could be the carbeurator or fuel injection as well, but again, it depends on make/model of the car. The absence of backfire would suggest it is not likely the carbeurator, but it still could be the fuel injection. The injectors may be bad. Bent valves could also cause this problem. My advice is ask the question again, including the make/model/year of the vehicle in question.

Sounds like the motor is missing out and it will cause the car to shake. I would check to see if all of the plugs are firing then check to see if maybe i have a bad plug wire. If ever thing is OK with the fire then i would check to make sure that all of the plugs are getting fuel to them. You could have a bad injector or vac. line off or broke

Streched timing chain or vacuum problem maybe intake manifold leak.
