They sure seem to have woken up. It is just the Twins misfortune that they are in the same division with the Tigers & White Sox. I think the Sox are going to start falling off now, but I don't think the Twins can get past the Tigers, and they'd have to REALLY go on a serious streak to get past the AL East for the Wild Card. So, if I'm right about the White Sox dropping down, like Baltimore did last year, the Twins will make the Divisional playoffs, but I don't think they'll go past the division.

To the guy who said the Central division is tough... rofl, are you a moron?
They look tough because they play eachother and they're all garbage. Kansas City? Minnesota? Between the two of them, you couldn't put together a baseball team that would compete in the AL East. And the Tigers? Again, baseball's best record from beating up on the inferior NL, and the Twins/Royals/Indians.
Cleveland blows too. If you swapped ANY of these teams, the White Sox included, into the AL East, they'd finish no better than 3rd behind the Yankees and Boston.
If Toronto played in the AL Central, they'd win that division by 20 games. And if Tampa Bay played there... they'd compete.

With the Sox and TIgers in the same division, simply do the math to have them play .500 ball the rest of the season Tigers 42-43, Sox 43-44)and you'll see the Twins have quite a hill to climb:
Tigers would be 94-68
Sox would be 91-71
the Twins would have to play 47-40 to catch the SOX at that scenario...and we are not including the Red Sox and Yankees or anyone inthe AL West who might become butter and go on a roll.
Impossible, no...improbable, yes...

Nope, they won't make it. 8 game streak and how many games have they made up on either the Tigers or the White Sox?
And how does bartmooby think the Sox, the defending champs, are going to pull a Baltimore and fall apart? No way. Sox win at least 95 this year.

I've thought about it and my opinion is that they will not make the playoffs. The way I see things shaping up, the Yankees will win the AL East. The White Sox will win the Central. And the Oakland A's will take the West. Boston will be the wild-card representative.
Minnesota will likely make some noise due to great pitching (Liriano, Santana, and Radke) but their hitting leaves a lot to be desired (Mauer aside).

Liriano and Santana are two of the best in baseball. but the offense is a little weak NOT counting Mauer who has the best AL average, and justin morneau who is an rbi leader. but they're in the same division as the Chisox and the Tigers, two of the BEST teams in baseball. My answer is no, the twins wont make the playoffs
