Why are most people afraid of seeing somebody else sad?

cause most people have enough on there plate to also hear someone elses problems would be more of a burden

I'm not afraid to see someone sad, why would someone be afraid to see somebody else sad, what are they going to do melt you with their tears?

Because i just don't like seeing someone else sad especially a guy.

Because it reminds them of their own unresolved grief. (usually at an unaware level) In fact the extent to which you can't cope with someone's feelings is the extent to which you haven't dealt with your own. So if you have trouble coping with angry feelings, you haven't resolved your own. If someone fearful is around you and you have a lot of fear (and that is most of us unfortunately!) you are likely to be attacking in some way of that person because it feels more comfortable to be the aggressor than to have your own fear triggered. If you look at your own reactions to other's feelings, you can figure out what you personally need to resolve in yourself. It's a very rewarding thing to do and makes such a difference to your life. (and I know many people who've done it!)

because i am sad all the time and seeing other sad people will just make me more upset and depressed, thats why!

well many do not know what to do if someone is sad.. they dont know if to ask them what is wrong because that migth be getting to personal with that person. aslo people want to be around people that are simply happy

because it makes them uncomfortable and they don't know what to say or do. They also don't want to embarrass the other person sometimes.
