Okay, we know conservatives don't like evolution much and still believe that woman is made of rib. We also know that when it comes to free market capitalism, everything can be ignored, spun, distorted and insulted away to continue making a solid dollar.
Most scientists (at least the one's not on major corporate payrolls) agree that global warming is a pressing reality, and that humans are having a direct and measurable impact.
Here's a link that suggests the Congressional Scientific Council believes that global warming is a reality.

My question is... when is the world's greatest polluter going to acknowledge the problem?

Theaterhanz, do you agree that the government is responsible in areas that fall outside of the specific control of people and business. If there were ever a subject that was in the specific realm of governmental influence, it is how much we pollute, and how this impacts our wellbeing.

How about when the left stops putting out fake news and calling it "science".
BTW, as a scientist, I've seen many advocates for Global Warming either exaggerate their data, improperly analyze their data, or publicize unfounded conclusions from it.
Why? They're on a different payroll, wise guy.
So, how about getting your head out of your lower orifice, and start learning instead of being so gullible?

Well, the left doesn't help the situation with movies that distort the facts:
http://www.lakesunleader.com/articles/2006/06/20/opinion/19.txt
Global warming might be real, but the left coming out with facts that can easily be proven false or misleading isn't going to help the cause.
As for most scientists agreeing on global warming, that's a load of crap as well; many scientists haven't take one side or the other and about an equal amount say it is happening or isn't happening. Of course, liberals will just say stuff like "not on major corporate payrolls" to discredit any scientist who might have a legitimate study explaining discrediting global warming.
And yes, I am one of the people who believe global warming caused by CO2 is a big pile of monkey crap (and I'm not on the "right"); however I do believe we need to reduce pollution dramatically. Another article below on causes of global warming; but of course, they must work for timber or oil companies. And that was sarcasm.

Thanks, indierock1...your rational thinking is refreshing.
I'm a conservative and an atheist with a degree in meteorology.
I regularly mock creationists as do plenty of others (read columns by Charles Krauthammer and George Will on this subject) - so the 'woman is made of rib' doesn't pass the giggle test.
The Congressional Scientific Council? Give me a break! And, no, Al Gore isn't a scientist either, despite his delusions to the contrary.
Have we observed an overall warming of Earth's atmosphere? Yep. About 1 degree F in the last century.
Do I care? No.

First off, I'm a liberal. Second, global warming is a generic term that makes me think of Mencia saying "DER DUH DER". With population growth and pavement covering every piece of grass, things are going to get warmer. Go to Houston, sweat buckets, then go out to some farm somewhere and you'll notice the temperature difference.
The fact is, however, that through the history of TIME, the earth warms and cools, glaciers retreat and reform, oceans transgress and regress, the North and South poles switch, and the Ozone layer fades in and out. Everything is cyclical. Most of the people complaining about Global Warming are the same that complain about high oil prices, yet they drive an SUV and enjoy throwing away those plastic bottles. Face it, any charitable organization that tries to get money from you to combat Global Warming is just trying to pay for the CEO's next million dollar house.

Dude, i s'pose most minds are still froze but when the ice age of the 1990s (that never came) THAWS out and we can all think freely! we can then agree they don't know, they ASSuME so. and these experts (theyre not even perts any more? how can we trust a pert let alone an ex pert?) who don't make much money and need every cent they get from grants and funding. once the few get "on board" with what works to get funding as in the papers all claiming the new ice age. do so because we also know that when it comes to free market capitalism, everything can be ignored, spun, distorted and insulted away to continue making a solid dollar.
As all evidence at that time showed proof positive mans pollution, greenhouse gases had caused these huge collections, deposits. making it harder for the suns rays to penetrate thru. this was shown to be the reason in the 80s. why our temps were so much colder historically. and in fact after studying all other ice ages. our conditions weather wise were in deed the forefront of our mini ice age to come in the 90s and by 2000 our avg temp was to be 10degrees colder from a century or so ago. sounds familiar?...
everyone in the sci com who agreed with these findings in the 80s wrote their own ticket! because we know that when it comes to free market capitalism, everything can be ignored, spun, distorted and insulted away to continue making a solid dollar.
to get grants studying such things. ah yes, geo socio political corp funding scheme at its best! Since that didn't pan out, they had to change their findings to meet their audience to assure more funding came thru.
global warming in the 80s assured our death by ice age now its a heatwave when in fact there are no facts or proof of global warming either naturally or man made. And other than whats historically been our worlds behavior in climate changes for many a, millennium now. our temps are normal, our weather is too. the most and only genuine influence, is the sun and we didnt cause that to go global or warmer! turn off o'reilly & sesame street~! turn on A&E Discovery! do work in the fields of nuke haz waste, and local and world gov politics. see whats real and whats not for yourself. not o'relying on others to tell you what is or isnt so. My question is... when is the world's greatest polluter going to acknowledge the problem? my answer is when scientists dont have to rely on funding to make a living because we also know that when it comes to free market capitalism, everything can be ignored, spun, distorted and insulted away to continue making a solid dollar.
well i know you believe their reports so i say they were right then too SO LET'S KEEP ON w/GREENHOUSE GASSES AND BRING ON THE "ICE AGE" BABAY! thatll rid ourself of that pesky albeit nonexistent heatwave! hey do yall think we created the heatwave factor in the 90s global warming ponzi scheme. to rid the ice age factor of the 80s?

Efforts are still made only to prevent Global Warming. We assume Global Warming also, to be a natural phenomenon and we have already crossed our limits in preventing it.

The problem is not with left or right, religion or not. The problem is in consumption. The answer is conservation and a tempered greed for energy: public transportation instead of cars, fans instead of air conditioning, reduced square footage in homes, turning useless things off, better insulation, more reading and less trips to the mall, eating corn instead of feeding it to cows, recycling, etc.

Divide and conquer!!
As long as we are arguing amongst ourselves, instead of FORCING the governments to do something about it, (which would involve telling their best-buddie companies to behave) nothing will ever happen.
The idiots you referred to in your question will only acknowledge it when it they are told that it is ok to do so.
