We are starting to get more non-white players into the game in the old republic and of course the more the better. When enough non-whites get involved I really think the Springboks will be a very hard team to beat. (We're on our way to winning the IRB Sevens right now I think, with about 50% non-whites) Go Bokkies!!
Rugby is a game for gentlemen of all classes and all races : roll on the day when all South Africans accept this!

Right now they are ranked 5th in the world. Behind New Zealand, England, France and Austrailia, in that order. But Ireland is right on their tale. They won the Rugby world cup in 1995.But were not permitted to enter the first 2 beacause they did not allow black players on there team for years and did not allow black teams to play against their national team until the late 80s. New Zealand had to cancel a tour to South africa because they were not permitted to bring black players. Although I'm sure this is not the feelings of all the players at the time. This one reason held them back from being as well liked in the league.

We are doing ok, but that is not good enough.
Yes there are injuries, but it just highlights that we do not have depth. The reason is players leaving the country because their club sides are not paying them enough. Professionalism is not killing the game and whether you like it or not it will not change.
People always blame coaches, administration and players. I think the problem lies with the fans. No one is supporting the club sides (not provincial) and the ones that do cannot behave themselves. The clubs need money to keep talented players in the country. So instead of watching the Bokke loose on TV, go out and support your local clubs. Then maybe the Bokke will start winning.
PS. Make Naas Botha Springbok Coach when Jake White leaves.

I think SA showed lots of rustyness against the French & if it wasn't for Percys excellent kicking, the scoreline would have looked a lot more embarressing!
Jake White needs to possibly get a proper fetcher in the team such as Luke Watson and perhaps rethink some of his strategies as they are starting to look a little tired (such as the rush defence and feeding off the other teams penalties). The backline needs to be utilised a lot more instead of kicking away valuable possession.
The Saffas looked good in this years Super 14 with some decent wins (including some much needed overseas victories) but there is still lots of work to do if they are to do well in this years tri nations.

Wow, I can't believe this was 10 years ago! England were the current world champions, South Africa was ranked FIFTH, and who knew South Africa would go on to win the next world cup?? Wow I was 6. I didn't care for rugby, I didn't even know it EXISTED. Now New Zealand are the first team to win two consecutive World Cups, South Africa are slagging, and England didn't even get past the pool stages of the most recent World Cup. Strange to think so eh??

We are skrewed this season bru ... I presume your south african ?
Lots of injuries to the squad, in fact I think more than half the main team is out .
Bad selections and player positioning.
Coach doesnt have 100 % say in the team.
Jake Whites job is uncertain beyong the world cup next year.
Its gonna be REALLY tough, plus we lost our first match at home for two years against the french last week.
Oh, and WE NEED A PROPER BACKLINE COACH !!!

South Africa are a good team, who play hard, but (mainly) fair. They will do well in the tri-nations, they ran New Zealand close last year and I think they will cause the All Blacks problems again this year.

It's funny to see people call them thuggish when you look closely at the Australian side's history. I miss it since being out of the country in 2001. Wonderful to watch but needs some more color equality. Go Bokke!
