Yes, guinea pigs can eat oranges, but most pigs don't really like it. Also, be careful giving piggies tomatoes. The leaves and stems of tomatoes, and all of the potato plant, have a toxic (to guinea pigs) substance it it. I can't recall exactly what the name of the chemical is, but both the tomato and potato are in the poisionous nightshade family of plants. People are able to handle the small amount in potatoes, and we don't eat the tomato greens, put piggies are too small to be able to handle it at all. Tomato fruit doesn't have any of the chemical, so just make sure you cut the core out before giving it to your little squeaker.

Yes, guinea pigs can have oranges. In fact, they are a wonderful addition to their diet. Guinea Pigs' little bodies can't make their own Vitamin C, and that is a key ingredient in Guinea Pig Pellets. Feeding guinea pigs Rabbit Pellets will not give them the needed vitamins and nutrients they need to survive. Scurvy is a terrible disease that is caused by not having enough of certain vitamins and minerals in your diet. This happens to both humans and guinea pigs.
Hope this helps! Oh, just remember to remove the eaten orange after they are done with it, or else you could invite ants to join in!

I best deliver my guinea pig oranges each and every 2 weeks. What I probably do is I peel the orange, then I use a knife to reduce of the dermis aspect. Basically I feed my guinea pig the juice and the pulp. Best Wishes, CoCo T.

Yes you can give guinea pigs oranges.

They can eat bananas, and oranges, and tomatoes. You have to be careful when you feed them tomatoes and oranges because they do contain an amount of acid in there, and if the piggies eat too much of them, they can get mouth sores. I would feed each pig about a cup of veggies a day. In regards to fruit, they can develpe diabetes so i would limit the fruit you give them to about a small piece once a week. They love it, but we have to watch our piggies diet.

I've never tried oranges with my guineas . The only thing that may stop them is if the stringy bits get caught in their throats.

mine like lettuce and tomato best, but also cucumber, carrot and apple.
