I do not want answers that say that this is not a good idea or will never work. I only want answers that specifically answer the question, please!

It can't until someone is able to reconcile the financial implications for business.

It won't. The world runs on the seven day week, and trying to change nearly everyone to a calendar that is very screwy isn't going to happen. After all, how is business going to take having all these random "no days" that don't count in a month. It kind of screws up their financials when they are determined on a quarterly and monthly basis.

I was about to make the same reference to the metric system as the person before me. Not only would it have financial repercussions; but I imagine it would mess up a few computers, too. A new system of any kind would have to be taught in grammar school before entertaining this type of change.

I remember when they came out with "New Math"...all of sudden my parents could no longer help me with my homework...as it became Greek to them. People are very resistant to change. Of course we could subscribe to the adage: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

How could one get Americans to understand and follow this regimen when they can't get their minds wrapped around the metric system. The whole world and U.S. industry are on the metric system - all except the U.S. populace. In case anyone is interested, the American currency is measured in metric.
This ought to be good for some caustic and below par comments.

Yeah, great.
Then the next thing would have to be bringing ESPERANTO back into the discussion and that would be all we'd ever need to REALLY screw things up.
