Absolutely not. Blind obedience is asinine. You have an obligation as a human being with a moral compass to question something that immoral.
Plus, I wouldn't do anything this government asked me to because odds are, it is immoral.

Well, first off, you can't really be contacted by the government in the sense that government has some unmediated access to you. You have to get some letter or have a meeting wish some bureaucrat or some such thing. This raises the issue of whether the person making the request is, in fact, representing the government or whether he is pursuing his own agenda.
The postwar experience of the Nazis shows, saying you were just following orders is no defense. So even if the government order were formally legitimate, it still could be immoral and even a crime against humanity.

This seems highly improbable as the government has all manner of highly trained assassins who could probably do the job far more efficiently and "cleanly" than I. However, I'll play.
The answer is "NO." First and foremost, I don't trust the government to be honest as to why it would want someone assassinated. I also don't trust the government to have an intelligent, moral, or valid reason to do do such a thing. Finally, if they were trying to enlist a civilian, a complete amateur, to do such a thing, it would only be because they need a fall guy to take the wrap for the crime.

The only time I can ever see myself killing another human is if it was a case of self preservation. So if the government told me if I didn't kill this person they would kill me or my loved ones, then yes I would do it. Well on second thought, it might depend on who it was they wanted me to kill. If it was some person who I felt would benefit mankind more than I could I might not kill them and would let myself be killed instead. But they would have to be someone REAL special like Gandhi or maybe someone like Albert Einstein was, and I would have to be convinced that they would be of some benefit to the world if I was going to give up my life instead.

Personally no I will never kill another living being.
But if hypothetically I was asked by the government they must be asking me because I am really good at killing ppl since they are doing a fine job of killing/cover up everyday. So then I would say yes. But that would be hypothetically saying that is my job and all.

the govt alwaz choses someone to do its dirty work,if that someone happens to be me,I WILL do it,hey people....dont sharpen yr claws at me so soon...i say I will do it only if I happen to be a soldier for 'this' govt.
why so y may ask? well....... when you join the army, you conditionally submit yrself to A NATION,OR SHOULD I SAY THE ORCESTRATORS OF THIS NATION,the govt!
After you are shackled with so calle dtagline of 'serving yr motherland' then you have no voice to turn down a gruesome murder, let it be an innocent or a scheming bad -face,you ahve to do it ,else you are worm food..........I wouldn't want to be one, atleast I can live to ask God for forgiveness rather than making a premature journey via the govt to the tomb!
So,my Big question is: Is anyone game for this dangerous blame game? or do you want R.I.P scrolled across yr body?
which one will it be for you pal?!!

If govermental authority offering you that kind of job, you do not have a choise but do it, otherwise they do not want anyone would possibly know what kind of pretty offers they holding for people beside credit cards , free burgers and bar-b-q on independence day. So if you don,t do, they will do you. It is very unlikely you desire to be in that scenario although who knows? Some one doing that anyway.

I would not believe it was really the government. I would ask a lot of questions, and try to get the scam exposed, and the guilty party investigated.

I'll provide a scenario that should clear this up: What if you found out the target was you?
Because of the result, there wouldn't be enough money in the world.
