i am about to change the airfilter of my prelude.. from stock to the aftermarket racing filters.. does it affect my gas consumption?

does it make my car more fuel efficient or more gas to be consumed..? please give advice.. thanks..

It will give you better gas milage but not a noticable amount.

It won't burn more gas. What it does is allow more air to flow into your engine, thereby allowing more fuel to be burned in the combustion process. This translates into a slightly better fuel efficiency, and maybe another horsepower or two. Just make sure you clean it routinely, and put the sticker that comes with it somewhere near your airbox, so that if you ever go to an oil change place or a mechanic, they don't mistakenly pitch it and replace it with a normal one.

I converted the air filter on my V-8 powered Dodge Dakota 4X4 truck to one of the K&N Filter-Chargers. I found my gas mileage has improved slightly, but not a huge difference.
