Its actually called a "flash drive".
Click on "My Computer" and double click on the flash drive. It might be labeled as your "F:" drive.
Drag your picture to the flash drive.
If you don't see the flash drive in "My Computer" you may need to install the driver for it. Your flash drive probably came with a CD that has what you need on it. If you don't have the CD, go to the company's website, find your flash drive, and they should have a driver you can download.

A Zip drive is something else... kind of a high-density floppy
The ones that plug into a USB slot are, variously, "thumb drives", "flash drives", "travel drives" or, misleadingly, "memory sticks"
Once you plug them in and the system has recognised them - which might take a minute or so - they appear just like another disk drive, so you can read and write, copy and paste, drag and drop to and from them, just the same as any other device on the system

When you plug the device into the USB port a new drive letter should show when you double click on My Computer. Navigate to the pictures you want to copy. Select the pictures you want to copy, right click and select copy, navigate to the usb drive letter right click on that drive and select paste. The files should now be moving to the USB drive.

treat it just like a cd or discket, click and drag or select and copy to the drive. A prompt always comes up when you connect the drive, just note which it is eg drive E or F as the case may be so you can find it again.

flash drive or thumb drive.....
Copy or cut and open My Computer..... Depending on the amount of drives you have it may be calle E: Drive.
Paste it in there. If you have Windows XP you have hot swap simply unplug the device and go. If not you will need to properly remove it by stopping it.
