CC stands for Carbon Copy, that is so you can copy other people on the email if you want them to read it to. That way they know that the email isn't specifically for them, but just for them to read. You don't need to put anything in there if you don't want to , its optional

Don't listen to the ones that tell you not to use or don't worry about Bcc. It should always be used, put all but one address in Bcc one goes into the To block. Why? That way whoever receives the email won't have a big listing of addresses at the top of the message it looks like a piece of junk. The main reason and most important is a persons email address is like a phone number or home address if you put in the To or cc block then everyone knows the address. Persons who send me email with my address grouped in the cc or To Block I tell them if they continue to do that remove me from your listing. Its a invasion of my privacy.

the CC: column is for anyone who you think should see the e-mail because they may be affected by it. The BCC is similar to the CC except it doesn't notify the recipient who else it is sent to. CC means Carbon Copy and BCC means Blind Carbon Copy.

cc- means carbon copy - use it when you want someone to see your email but it is not addressed to them directly. The recipient can see who has been copied on your email. For example you might want to cc your boss on an email about a project you are working on.

bcc- is blind carbon copy. same as above except the recipient cannot see who was copied on the email.
