H.G. Wells is a British author. Besides being best known in modern times for writing science fiction he did something that had not been done in the past. He wrote a book giving the general information and time line of history. Called "The History of the World". It was the first time that a history publication was widely read by the people. Before that, most history books were written and published for Historians... That was an incredibly important thing.
