Pre-med is a curriculum which gets you ready for the medical field. Your schedule would include things like biology, physics, and lots of math. Good Luck!

A pre-med major is declared by someone who intends to apply for medical school. Usually people major in one of the sciences but you can have any major and do a pre-med course of study, which typically involves taking courses in biology, chemistry, physics, and biochemistry. Those courses will help you perform well on the MCAT which is the standardized test for applying to medical schools. If you are already a bio or chem major, it's easier to get pre-med courses into your degree plan. If you major in something like philosophy, you'll have to work a bit harder to make sure you cover your bases and many of your electives will probably be science classes.

Majoring in pre-med can define that you want to pursue a career in medicine or the biology field. As a pre-med student you will take classes that will better your knowledge in the biology/science field to better prepare yourself for the next level of graduate work or medical school ect. The classes consist of a lot of chemistry, science, physics and math, so it can be a bit intense. But don't be scared, its well worth it at the end. Take care!!!

You don't major in pre-med. You would major in Biology or another life science. Through those cirriculum you could be following the pre-med track.
