I think that jealousy leads to being a hypocritical. But I also think that being jealous leads to anger and lies. I think that stupidity leads to being hypocritical. The true definition of a hypocrisy is "The practice of professing beliefs, feelings, or virtues that one does not hold or possess; insincerity" So I guess that jealousy can lead to hypocrisy after stupidity. It all goes hand and hand!

Every person can be jealous of other people because they don't understand what is going on. If a friend is jealous of another friend, then yes they can be accused of hypocrisy. Maybe they are in a relationship with someone and the other friend doesn't understand what is going on with that guy and that girl and the friend criticizes them for what she doesn't understand. It could be jealousy because she doesn't have what her friend has but there is no need to be mean, ugly and hurtful for that reason. A real friend can voice their concerns or feelings and not be accused of hypocrisy. If they do it then maybe you should re-evaluate the friendship.

Everybody has the ability to be a hypocrite and everyone has the ability to allow themselves to be jealous of some one, some thing, or 'perceived' situation. It is one human being 'judging' another.

Humanity is imperfect, and the key to the problem of hypocrisy is very clear--do not judge others. Allow for the mistakes of others, if ONLY because you make mistakes yourself. The same goes for jealousy.

You're right.Usually we are furious on ourselves for being jealous in the first place and can't handle it very well is why we try to hide it .But a true friend , even jealous, never lies to you.
