I am not famikliar with the electronic modules you mention but I have used Aquacide brand products to control some weeds in my pond. They make a variety of products specific to particular pond weeds. Most are suposed to be harmless to fish. www.killlakeweeds.com

We had a great problem with blanket weed and green algae building up on the sides of our pond.
We brought a new fountain/filter that has the UV in it and now the pond is clear. So something's really do give the results they promise.
I'm not too sure if that is the sort of "electronic module" that you are meaning ..... ?

Don't bother buying anything expensive. A fishing net (or any long piece of wood - broom hangle, rake) does the job nicely, at getting rid of blanket weed.
