yeah and I wanted Totti to miss the kick to make up for the stupid fault called....but...Neill SHOULD NOT have done that because Australia still is unskilled as far as knowing how easily Italians flop...Italy took advantage of them and used the flop to get their kick...Germany, Brasil and Argentina know Italy does that so they don't give Italy as many chances to get their Oscars (rewards for acting).....they game was only a step up as far as being dreadfully dull from the Ukraine game (quite the contrast from Sunday) but this is a game that should have ALSO been decided on shootouts...Australia did that well! Hey Italy..the Aussies weren't bad were they? But Brasil beat them by 2 and it didn't take them over 90 minutes to score both...so with italy BARELY beating Australia on a technicality (it would and should have gone to OT) and Italy TYING the USA....Ukraine may even beat Italy (provided the flop is killed off) and give Germany/Argentina an even QUICKER route to the Cup Finals..

I don't get how you can say the Italians cheated? What games have you people been watching? Its a little tough to lose when nobody can score on you!!
There's 2 parts to winning - scoring more than the other team, and not being scored on more than the other team. Seeing as NOBODY has been able to score, how can you honestly say that Italy doesnt deserve to be where they are?
Cheating - what cheating??? They were fouled left right and centre there were no calls. The referee only gets 1 look at that play. Its easy for all of us to sit here and criticize. But if you are a ref, and you see that play once you have to make that call. Whether or not its the right call after watching a dozen replays, you have to make the call based on the first view. And come on, you can't honestly say the first time you saw it that it wasn;t a penalty. Come on.
I think that ref actually did a great job.
So people - watch the games with a bit of impartialness. Brazil has allowed goals. England has allowed goals. The Germans have allowed goals. Italy has not (only an own goal). They deserve their position as much as any of those so called top teams

Piero M, I seriously don't get your replies. The Italians did cheat because that guy "dived". Maybe you should stop whining and answering all the Australian questions and telling people to shut up about it. Do you have something against Australia? Or do you just not respect the fact that hey we may not be a soccer nation, but we tried our best and made it as far as we did?

Otherwise yeh, I think think the aussies were robbed

Yeah I got to say I hated that referee, doesn't he care he going to get a really bad reputation soon and he going to regret giving Italian the penalty maybe he doesn't want to admit he was wrong maybe he watched the replay but didn't give a damn for the people. The Aussie defender was already on the ground before the italtian player even fell down he bloody faked it like hell, He tried to go right and fell by himself or maybe he's just blind! What's wrong with the world huh no fair play at all bad sportsmenship for sure! I want them to have a rematch!!

One more thing I would want that Referee! out of the game and Italian Soccer Team out as well!!

Yes!! That was THE worst call EVER! The Italian player could have easily jumped over the Austrailian player, and continued his run, but he knew he had a good chance of drawing a penalty, so he purposely ran into the defender! If you watch the replay, you can see how obvious it was that he faked it. And the Italian player was on the ground for less than 2 seconds before he started celebrating, because he knew he had drawn the penalty. Also, to make a game changing call like that with 5 seconds left in the game, its just attrocious.

Was the call bad yes. Should the soccerroos have put away a couple of thier own chances - yes. Should the socceroos have pushed the issue more given Italy was down a man for 40 minutes - yes. Should the defender have stayed on his feet - yes.

So blame the bad call on the ref but the soccerroos should have never let it get to that point.

properly, referee's judgements are a very part of interest. I propose, for sure, the pass is ahead yet nevertheless, look contained in the previous, All Black had time to time referee's judgements for them. similar deal about the sin binning, it became hardly hostile to All Black. notwithstanding the real question is, what became undesirable including your crew the day exceeded by ? - Domination in rugby is not in any respect synonymous to a particular victory, look on the diverse score... - New Zealand became no longer waiting to pass up a aspect even as france did it. - do not blame in straight forward words the instructor, this is really consumer-friendly and unfair, a defeat is continually collective, the approach made by Henry became top notch. - gamers were no longer waiting to end the interest, they did not scored sufficient in the course of the fist 0.5 time (france became so chuffed to lose in straight forward words with a distinction of 10 factors on the pause). - French protection became particulary fantastic, they achieved ninety.4 p.c. of their tackles, something as 176 tackles with fulfillment in a unmarried interest !!

seriously, people should shut up and know that that was a valid penalty. jump over the player. why doesnt the entire team have a liedown then. the spirit of the sport is dampened by people who know nothing of it.
