Has he been arrested? Are there any charges filed?
If not, go ahead and let him pitch.
He may not be guilty.
It is never okay to hit a woman....but until you are convicted of a crime you are innocent.

First off, he is innocent until proven guilty. Second if you were accused of the same thing should you be allowed to go to work. You people are looking at this like all wrong. This is America were a man is innocent until proven guilty if you discipline him for something him may not have done then what is to prevent this happening for something else. I will pose this to you. If actions were taken against Brett Meyers this time say he was suspended for the game, now you have set a standard saying anyone accused of a crime should be suspended. Now the Red Sox are playing in the world series and Ortiz, Shilling, Palblebone, Rameraze (pardon the spelling not a Red Sox fan) and maybe 4 bench players are arrested for the murder of John F. Kennedy, the day before game 7. You are now saying these players shouldn’t play in the World Series because they were arrested for a crime. I just think the media has blown this out to be more then it should be because god know if they were arrested for something they would be writing about it, in jail.

He hasn't been convicted, or as far as I know, even charged. This is America, innocent until proved guilty. If it turns out that he really did do this, throw the book at him & take his glove away, but until that happens, he's only the accused, not a criminal.
They should let him pitch, they need all the pitching they can get. They are the only team showing any life in the NL East, the only team even trying to slow down the Mets. I'm a NY fan, but the Phillies really have a shot if their pitching picks up.

i guess his wife's swollen face (in the police report).. and the dozen or so witness, how about the mutiple 911 calls... i guess all that doesn't matter cause he hasn't been trialed yet..
use your head people and stop hiding behind out court system... because if you do people like O.J. walks.... and it will be harder to stop domestic violence..
Note: this is not a he said, she said case.. he beat his wife in front of dozen of witnesses. she didn't accuse of dom. violence. he didn't beat her behind close doors.. he PUNCHED her in the middle of a sidewalk in front of alot of people.
STUPID STUPID statement "they need all the pitching they can get. " way to seperate domestic violence versus a kids game... good job. so your saying Its okay to beat a women.. but only if your a good player..

Think of it this way...At least he is in the National league, where pitchers do get to hit....the crime would be doubly worse if he pitched in the AL
