How do I "tactfully" get my next door neighbours to shut up?

I live in an apartment and there is a family next door who are always playing the piano, violin and flute. The parents make them practise every day after school. I can sometimes hear the father saying, 'You MUST improve.' hehe.
I have a 4 month daughter who can't sleep when the playing is very loud and it is just very, very irritating to hear "Fur Elise" playing all bloody day.
Any advice to get them to shut the hell up, nicely, as I don't want to cause any friction with the neighbours.

Since you have a baby, that's a best excuse. Tell them politely: I enjoy your playing, but my baby has a problem and can't sleep and keeps crying. So could you please avoid playing in the afternoon (or whatever time you don't want them to play), or could you practise in another room far from my appartment?

Start playing some socially degrading rap and hip hop music and ask them to watch the Oprah Winfrey show - Thank you and have an intoxicated day.

Call the police >>>> and that after contacting the landlord/superintendant<<<< to rectifiy the problem/trouble since you have the same rights as your neighbours.....but DO NOT take matters into your own hands....

you could ask the other neighbors if this bothers them too. i know it's their house, but they need to respect that they live very close to others. mabye some kind of time frame could be set up for noise

Good question when you find out please let me know. I have a couple of neighbors like that. Maybe if you slip them a note asking politely to be mindful of others.

put in a anounomous tip to your land lord that they are being distruptive and sugest that he give them a certain time fraim to practice

call them every morning at 4am, telling them how much you enjoyed the music
