"Free will" implies the ability to choose to do what you WANT to do. It also allows you to make mistakes. This is the key.
If we are entities that are to learn and progress to perfection, as implied by the fact that we are made in the image of our creator who IS perfect, we MUST have free will. WE must learn.
Perfect KNOWLEDGE is perfection, for in theory if you know EVERYTHING, which is achieved by learning, you would be perfect, and to learn everything, you must also be free to make mistakes and learn FROM them.

Of course it does. Who wants to be a robot? On the other hand, along with free will comes responsibility. If you make a good choice, you should get the rewards. If you make a bad choice you should get the consequences.

as opposed to what is correct are you saying what is it like not having it (go in the sex slave trade for a couple of years i think you will make sense of free will then)

Do you not have a mind of your own? Are you unable to make decisions? Perhaps you need the government or some preacher to tell you what to do. Then you can join the flock of sheep that has to be led by others.

To a Christian, it can be confusing since it is the very same free will awarded to us at birth that must be surrendered back to an unseen God. It all boils down to faith.

God says "you have free will! but if you choose wrong, you go to hell"
how is that free will?
i never understood it.
i think God's a comedian, telling the best jokes...people are just too afraid to laugh.

nothing is free. any expression of 'will' - free or otherwise - is a result of our varied experience to this point in our life, not to mention the prospect of imminent fear, overwhelming greed, deeply felt loathing and or all-abiding love....any questions?
