I'm in the same boat you are. With out knowing the full extent of your exercise and diet I can't say a whole lot. What I will recommend is a book called The Liver-Cleansing Diet by Sandra Cabot. Your liver the the "pump fat out of the body" organ. If that organ is not working properly it may retard your ability to lose weight. Another factor to consider is not the scale, but rather the fat % I remember starting (again) to lift weights. I looked at myself in the mirror and thought I was getting thinner, but the scale said nothing had changed. The reason is, muscle is three times denser than fat. For a more accurate measure of fat loss take measurements. Use a piece of string or get a tape measure use for sewing. Maybe even body fat calipers. The fact that you are not losing weight does not mean you are not losing fat. Another book I often recommend is Body for Life
By Bill Phillips. Maybe your are not lifting heavy enough to gain enough muscle to burn the fat. For what it's worth, my biggest hurdle to overcome is sugar! I love it and it goes straight to my waist.

You know the answer. 80 % of a weight loss comes from dieting. Eventhough you dont like fish, it is possible to lose weight. As long as you avoid bad fat and carbs. Try to make your portions smaller and it should help. You could try to calculate how much calories you eat in one day, and then try to reduce by 300 calories your next day. Once your stomach will get use to your reduced portion, try to reduce your calories intake again. You should loose 1-2 pounds per week MAX.

Good luck !

I was at 285lbs. I now weigh 215lbs. What I did was cut out all in between snacks. No candy bars, no pizza, nothing that wasn't a sit down eat time. Now I know that you do need to "snack" when your body needs nutrients, but put something else in place of that burger and fries. Take vitamins and eat the same time(breakfast, lunch and dinner) every day. Let your body have a routine. Your life does not have to be routine, but your body screams for it.
