Drink more coffee, of course! Or move your desk away from that sexy co-worker across from you that you keep dreaming about. Start thinking about the mortgage and the electric bill.

Caffeine is the obvious choice, but don't go for a coke or an energy drink. Coke has a lot of sugar and will only give you a temporary caffeine jump. Once you stop drinking, the effects will wear off and you will be even more tired than you were before and an energy drink will have an even worse affect. I recommend coffee. Coffee not only has health benefits but the caffeine will last longer and you won't have that drowsy after affect.

Also, if you have a desk job, try getting up and walking around. Also, it could be your sleep patterns. If you have problems sleeping, talk to a doctor about what you can try. If it's simply "my job is boring", any breaks you have, try doing something entertaining, maybe even step outside and get some fresh air or, if you can, strike up a conversation with someone around. Sometimes being social and active helps wake you up and take your mind off boring work.

Other than that, from one desk to another: Drink more coffee.

Same problem here. I usually get up & walk to the bathroom even if I dont have to go. The "good" bathroom is on the other side of the building so that helps. I stop by the kitchen to get a drink of coffee. Our company is pretty liberal with the internet, so I find different things to look up. Do you have text msg on your cell? Send a text msg 2 one of your friends. Just dont get caught ON the phone or internet, then you wont have to worry about falling asleep ON the job! Run outside to your car for something. The fresh air may wake you up...unless its freezing cold. Talk to a coworker if you like them :-) Invest in a radio for your desk & tune in to your fave station.

maybe you have low blood pressure, try to eat less, and always have some mineral water on desk, if you are sleepy, drink it or pure on your head.
it works for me.
