I HAD A PITY LOVE THAT WAS WORKING QUITE WELL UNTIL I LEFT IT TO PURSUE WHAT I THOUGHT WAS THE ONE, ONLY TO BE LEFT LONGING FOR THE PITY LOVE I LEFT BEHIND BECAUSE THE ONE TURNED OUT TO BE
-ONE- FALSE PRETENSE. THE GRASS IS NOT ALWAYS GREENER ON THE OTHER SIDE. IF IT AIN'T BROKE WHY TRY AND FIX IT. IF THE PITY LOVE IS CONTENTING ENOUGH UNTIL SOMETHING REAL ARISES, WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO LOSE?

That depends on what the situation is that you're talking about, D~. If you're talking about a hook-up between two people, then, no, pity love usually does not work forever. It may be a gift from one to another, but rarely is it a sharing of intimacy. Pity love has no foundation to build on except generosity. And without a foundation, it will not last.
Pity-love, as mentioned in religious texts, does work forever. It is a form of generosity that is helpful for the disadvantaged, and has lasting value for both the giver and the recipient of the gift.

Nothing lasts forever, and feeling sorry for someone and loving them are two different things. In order to love someone truly, you have to respect them and not "pity" them. There's also the matter of whether a person in "pity" love for another, respects and loves themselves.

I'm not sure about pity or forever. I have known couples who have gotten together out of convenience and circumstances and ended up in a strong, loving relationship and raised pretty decent families, but I suppose it depends on what context you put it in and how it's applied.

Be honest with yourself and look for smething that is real. Toys have no feelings or meaning. Get a real guy or girl and live a real life worth loving for. No, a pity love is a leech , a user or fantasy. It will end when the feelings is numb

It could be a little like the love of a parent towards a child, so it could be an enduring though not romantic relationship. But eventually the child grows up in some way or another, so the nature of the relationship would have to change.

No, resentment will probably set in pretty fast. I don't know how someone could stand being the target of someones pity love myself
