I can't imagine who a German pope would be supporting in the World Cup...

Did you know that the previous pope, Pope John Paul used be a goalkeeper in Poland.

I'd imagine the current Pope probably supports Ghana. Everyone loves an underdog.

In Italy a coffee company has own TV commercial, showing two guy's passed-over life in heaven. The last commercial shows every heaven people happy for WC cup winning - italians, brazilians, french and so on, singing and dressing their own caps, flags, shirts, scarves. Amazed, one guy ask Saint Peter: "Why are they all happy? Italy has won!" - "Remember, we are in Heaven, here ALL teams win the WC!". Even more oddily, the guy see also priests and nuns singing with their Vatican white and yellow flags! "Have THEY won too?" - "Of course. They're home (local) team!".
So. I think really Pope is supporting home team - Germany.

Something tells me the Pope has a lot better things to worry about than 22 men kicking a ball around.
