The Conflict between Palestine and Israel is being on since 1945. Before WW2, the middle east (Syria, Lebanon and Palestine) were splitted between France and England. England colonised Palestine. In 1917 Balford (Foreign Affair Minister of England) pressure by the Zionist signed a declaration that carried his name which promessed a piece of Palestine to the Jews. This declaration went to application later in 1945. Of course the Palestinians never agreed with the Balfoed Declaration. Since then the Israeli are killing Palestinians and occupying more land. So how do you expect the Palestinians to recognize Israel as nation??? Watch the news you will see what's going on over there and you will the daily massacres that take place on Palestine. By the way Palestine is not recognized as a country, it's consider to be a "region" in Israel...

Israel and Palestine have been fighting for hundreds of years. Most of the conflict started during the six day war. Palestine (Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, and Syria) wanted the land that Israel cultivated, but Israel wouldn't give up without a fight. In the end Palestine lost Gaza Strip, the Sinai Peninsula, the West Bank and the Golan Heights.

Another gentleman put it right, why won't Israel accept Palestine as a nation and stop killing them? Who's on the upper hand, Israel or Palestine?

How would you feel if supposedly Cuba attacked the US and invaded your homeland forcibly? Would you then ask the same question again after rephrasing?

That's more simple!

I think the problem is why Israel won't accept Palestine as a nation and stop killing them.UN has a resolution witch says that Israel must withdraw from the territories occupied in 1967.why don't they do it.Simply 'cos they don't accept an Palestinian state alongside them.So u're putting the problem the wrong way...

Allow me please to make some corrections before I answer you.
Not all Palestinians DO NOT accept Israel as a nation. Mr. Abbas, PLO Leader, meets with Israel always and they do recognize each other. Hammas, another Palestinian political front does not want to admit that Israel even exists. Also, there are a few other Palestinian fractions have mixed feelings. At any rate, each fraction has its own belief and ideology. Now the killing in Israel can not be ever stopped unless one BIG CONCEPT is established: All Palestinians fractions, including Israel MUST learn to accept each other as they are (regardless their religion, race, skin or origin), must learn how to live together in harmony as good neighbors, must not dwell on the past, must dismiss hatred and stubbornness from their hearts, must teach their kids not to retaliate or revenge and finally they must learn how to focus on establishing peace withing themselves and within the entire State of Israel. To all of them, Leave your faith at home please and communicate to each other as ADULTS. Thank you.

Because they feel that the UN's division of Palestine into 2 states to accommodate the displaced Jews from Germany after the Nazis were defeated was unjust, just as you would feel that it would be unjust for an outside party to divide your county to accommodate say displaced Iraqis. Especially if once they moved in they just kept taking more and more of your land and then stared to govern your every move.

Palestine won't accept it because they believe they have a rightful claim to the holy land.

But so do the Jews/Israelis, and the Christians.

This has been going on for centuries and is not about to stop any time soon, if ever.

The Arabs are going to have to be the ones who make the first step. Israel can live in peace with it's neighbors. They really don't like this never-ending killing. But the Palestinians and their Arab brothers are taught from birth to hate and vilify Jews.
