I go by daycare costs and 1/3 of your grocery bill a month, you can choose to split up the daycare in half so if you pay 300 a week there's 150 and if you choose say 50 for the groceries. It helps and when you tell them, they will understand why they are paying for it. Most people get the impression that when they pay child support it's all going to our hair and nails but you can't argue with daycare and groceries!!!!!!

How much does it cost to take care of them?
That would be the first question I would ask. The reason is that I would not want 40% of a minimum wage worker's paycheck.
Figure out what it costs to take care of a child, then split the cost in half. It is your child too so you should bear the brunt of paying some of the costs as well.

No amount should be the issue. Parents need to share all expenses for there child. Money isn't really all that important but just both parents wanting to do right for there child and making sure they dont do without.

It's a formula like anything else...It's what you make, what your (ex) spouse makes added together (that is what the child(ren) would be accustomed to) balanced/divided by the amount of time spent at each location with the primary caregiver being paid the difference. I think you can find it on-line if you ask a search engine.
Good Luck :-)

When it come's to your kid's you shouldn't be on child support just take care of them.
What people fail to realize is the court's are going to get percentage out of the payment's before the kid's get a dime.
If you're grown enough to create them you're grown enough to take care of them without being court ordered.

I think you can go into google and punch in..."child support calculations" that should get you a sight to punch in all your info and his/her info to give you an estimation...it also will vary from state to state...depending on the laws...so try to find one in your state
