I have a 350 chevy block that need rebuilding where on the engine is the year it was made stamped? I know it between 1980-1990.

Engine code=Passenger front below head on block

Rear of engine below manifold between the two heads(BEST)

You can also look under the valve cover to get the casting #'s
This will give you the years the heads were made on the engine and the size they were applied to

The answer lies in the serial numbers cast into the block, heads, etc. There are websites that will help you decipher the numbers so you will know what year engine was built. Good luck.

either under the alternator or on the back left side close to the head

it is located between the first and second pistons
