Your car can almost always be jump-started with enough Cold Cranking Amps applied.

But your car shutting off while driving isn't a battery issue. The battery only provides electricity to the starter and distributor--after the car is started, your A/C generator runs the car.

We jump drained batteries in class all the time, but there is a point at which a battery can no longer take a jump charge, and must be replaced.

I would have your A/C generator inspected--it's probably the cause of your problem.

Well, it can be jumped, but wouldn't it shut down again shortly after you pull the jumper cables? You can try to leave the jumpers on longer before you start the car to try to charge the battery some (be sure to check the jumper cables for overheating). This might give you enough charge to get you to a repair facility. Or you could bite the bullet and call a tow truck.

If it is the battery it shouldn't shut off while driving, because the alternator should continue powering the battery when the vehicle is running.
