We didn't have computers and tv had about 3-4 channels. We rode bikes, all the kids in the neighborhood would get together and play basketball, softball, kick the can (believe it or not), play hide and seek throughout the neighborhood and behind people's houses (all the neighbors had kids and were great). We had woods all around us - we played in the woods, made bike paths, built tree houses. I loved Barbie dolls and the like and while at home, I would play in my room for hours with them. We'd go from house to house hanging out with friends. We walked for miles and didn't even know it. We belonged to a pool (clubhouse pool) and we'd go there in the summer. Back then you could stay out at night and you didn't have to worry like you do now about things. I'm 48 years old now. I've changed a lot since then but my childhood years were the best of all - I wouldn't trade them - I'm GLAD we didn't have computers because we had socialization with each other which taught me a lot more than a computer could have at that age. We played sports together and laughed together and cried together. It was wonderful.

When I was that age, me and my brother done everything together. We were constantly playing some sort of game, playing in the dirt, riding bikes, etc. Now, me and my brother barely speak to each b/c he lives an hour away and I do not go down there very often due to his work schedule, etc. Life was simple back then and today it is school, kids, work, etc. for me as well.

LOL. I lived on a culdesack that was a hill. When it rained out, the water going down the side curb was like a river. So we raced golfballs down alongside the curb. The water kept them from going all over the place. But you'd still see them pass eachother like it was a real race. HILARIOUS!

played in the creek, played in our treehouse, played with myself, played house, played doctor, played 500, kickball, capture the flag/bb gun and ball tag (that's where you can get the other team out by shooting them or pegging them with a tennis ball), played tennis, lived at the neighborhood pool, spend the night parties, watched late night movies, stole pornos from my friend's dad and watched them, had picnics in our neighborhood, blew stuff up with gas and firecrackers (ant hills, GI Joe men, Barbies, spider webs,...), rode our go-cart, jumped on the trampoline, played in the sprinkler and on the slip-and-slide
i still do almost all of those things, some now with my hubby, and some with my kids! great question, thanks for the trip down memory lane!
