Maxi Rodriguez's goal was waaaay better than Beckham's goal. I mean, I love Beckham (even when he plays poorly, like he did on saturday) but that was like his 5th free kick of the game, and all the others had sucked, so its obvious he just got lucky on this one. It takes a lot more skill to receive a ball off your chest, judge its trajectory to know where its traveling, and volley it out of midair, than to kick a stopped ball. Yes its hard to kick the ball and get it to drop just over the wall, but not as hard as what Maxi did. Also, Maxi is right footed, and he kicked that ball with his left foot. There are not many people, including professional soccer players, who can kick a volley with that speedy, force, and aim with their non-dominant foot. Maxi's goal, hands down.

There is no comparison, Argentina's goal. It is like compring apple with orange. There were other beautiful goals, why wouldn't you compare those goals with Argentina's goal. David Beck hams wouldn't have made the Argentina's team if he was from that country. May be he would made T&T team. Beck hams is the most over rated player in the world , ofcoure anything English is over rated and that is why we are even talking about it.

The goals were incredible! The Ecua keeper knew that Beckham was going for goal and shoulda stopped that shot, but the Mex keeper was taken by surprise, especially when Rodriquez never shoots with his left foot.
I woulda preferred Ecua win and Argent lose but, hey, what the heck!

Beckam goal was beautiful But how can you compare a free kick wi
th a goal on a play. Both, Coles and Rodriguez were superb. And jon0055, How can you compare it with a penalty kick? On a penalty kick, the only chance a goalkeeper has is on a mistake from the shooter.

actually the best goal is not always the coolest..so i would say ukraine's goal against switzerland in PK's was the best beacuse switzerland hadn't given up a goal before the PK's which is a Fifa World Cup record so ukraine's 3 goals in the Pk shootout were the best!
