I'm not sure what kind of drink I put on it, but it made a stain. How do I remove it? I'm pretty sure the wood is oak.

I had an idea but answerers 1 and 2 hit the nail on the head. Old English also makes a scratch cover that's designed to blend with your wood grain and will work on water rings.

make a paste from mayonnaise and cigarette ashes.
Rub into the stain and let sit for a half hour. Repeat over the next few days, and the stain should disappear.

Try mayonaise, rub it in and then wipse off. I have used this before and it worked for me.

Vaseline is supposed to work.
