The internet is the best research tool currently available to students. In a matter of minutes, they have access to either actual information or how to go about finding the information. Prior to the internet, students could spend days or weeks trying to find obscure pieces of information.

For student:

free internet which if unmonitored will be a good source for playing games, surfing for porns, making virus, and many bad deeds. the only thing good is introduce students (that doesn't know internet yet) to the internet world (in the end they'll follow the trend of playing games etc)

On ideal world, internet could help students find the materials needed in classes. Discover new facts, learn more that they can't find from the teachers, etc.

There are too many possibility, but as far as i see there's nothing good for internet @ school.

ok anyway I think the internet is beneficial to a good education plus it allows students to relax and be able to have some recreation during the day. At my school between 8:00-8:30 students can check their e-mail in our big computer lab that has 300 Computers!!! Its huge!

Students can do research on assignments during their breaks instead of waiting to get home to use th internet. Also, not everyone has internet at home. Some families cannot afford it. So internet access at school makes it easier for students from poor families to do homework.

Supposedly it should be for school work but most of the kids I know use it for surfing and my space.

I was in school pre-computers and I did just fine without the internet by using real books in the library.
