A group of youngsters in America, head into the desert for camping and partying etc. They become stranded and a psychotic killer in a black 4X4 pick-up style jeep starts hunting them 1 by 1. He kills one with a grenade by burying him in the sand and dropping the live grenade next to his head.
I think a girl kills him at the end of the film with a cross-bow or bomething similar?!?
Ring any bells? It's driving me crazy!!

it's pretty much saying how horror movies started and shows the movies in chronological order.
maybe it is 'The Hills of Eyes' coz they had a 1977 version of it too.

I believe it IS "The Hills Have Eyes" (1977)
(they just re-made that movie).
Or could be "The Hills Have Eyes part 2" in the 80's.
I am sure that you are describing one of these Hills movies.
It was a low budget piece of crud! But that's what made it so great!!!
