Try using one of the self tanners. I know there's a new product out by Jergins that's a lotion for fair skin that gradually darkens your skin the more you use it. I haven't tried it yet though. I'm also Irish with fair skin. I don't tan, I burn.

I have really fair skin also...when I want to get tan I have to go in the sun for short periods of time to avoid getting burned. Just lay out for short periods of time, but fairly often...even every day...if you start to feel a little red...skip a day. You won't ever get a really dark tan, but you can get a nice tan if you work at it...I usually do. Happy Tanning!

i'm fair skinned and redheaded this is what i use/do. try using a self-tanner (jergens natural glow) for fair to light skin. i also sometimes go to the tanning bed about two to three times a week. if you burn easy like me, lay in the tanning bed for 10 min. to 15 min. the first few times, then if you want graduallly add more time.

Use a good self-tanner. It is not worth damaging your skin to try to use the sun or tanning beds. You could do the self-tanner at home or go to a salon. The salon airbrushed tans are amazing but spendy. You can also use bronzer with your makeup to give that sun-kissed glow.

um...i'm a fairly dark skinned girl, but i hope this helps. what u do is put on sunscreen. no higher than 25 spf. reapply it every half hour to an hour (depending on how fair your skin really is). that's what i make my friend do cuz she has FAIR skin and it really works. and then if she gets burned...it ends up turning into a real nice tan. good luck - Ciara

Use sunscreen and plan on gradually tanning. Banana Boat after sun lotion( I swear by it )works great at softening a burn into a tan.

i have the same problem..mystic tan or sunless tanner..try and SPF 4 if you really want the "natural" tan but be careful! just one blistering burn before age 18 can increase your chances of getting skin cancer dramtically!!

you have to start by spending VERT LITTLE time every day in the sun, and gradually increase the time. Start with just a few minutes per day
