I have noticed that most of the women are very competitive towards each other and sometimes they can be mean towards each other.
Is there any specific reason?

theory 1 - men manipulate women into catfights and benefit from "divide and rule" strategy. note the ratio of bloke buddy films relative to female buddy films. like 205:1...
theory 2 - in a world a men [read:money] rule, women compete on limited, finite ground [read: looks] instead of what really matters and lasts [brain, talent, personality]. hence women feel insecure and act petty. bet the boys would be equally bitchy and back-stabbing if women run the world...
theory 3 - men maybe the more pampered and therefore dumber sex, and women are far more capable because, well, they better be. yet women have proven to be the more self-destructive and mutually destructive sex.

There not. Ever heard of feminists, their obsessed with women.
Also, ever heard of the sisterhood. Every woman is a member of that.
Now men are different, they naturally compete for the attention of women. They also compete more at everything.
Although you don't specifically say so, I have assumed that you mean, more competitive than men. If you do, then sorry, I can't agree for the above reasons.

i think women get competitive with each other because they want to be the ones on top then at the bottom..i mean every girl you meeet can be a competition to you..lets say i like someone and she also likes the person..we compete with each other to get the guys attention..and sometimes some girls just want to be the ones who people really pays attention to..

Comparing men and women, I suppose you place your question!
Well, men by structure are warriors, sailors, hunters!
Women are securing the home and the fields!
Thus, men take away all the need to fight, our there in the unknown environment and by exercise. Women are monthly esoteric, thus, when they feel close, they become competitive!
