Do you really think it makes them look beautiful? I don't. It's unhealthy for the skin, it looks fake, and. . .done improperly, actually makes women look older than they are.
I think it stems from insecurity.
A little can be helpful. . .enhance certain features and such. Too much is just too much.

Maybe, just maybe THEY LIKE IT.
Not to everyone's taste but if they enjoy it, it doesn't harm anyone/
People with no psychological qualifications whatsoever are always so quick to bang on about 'low self esteem' and 'self-image', when what they want to say is 'I don't think those women look good but I'll sound sour and mean if I just say it'. What if the tables were turned? You could also say women who don't wear makeup are shy, have low self esteem or wish to 'blend into the background' - in fact many psychological studies show that to be the case.
By the way, I don't slap on a lot of make-up. I do have a real problem with po-faced people 'judging' those who do dress/make-up in an extreme style; I had a mate who was bullied at uni by PC women who said she looked shallow so must be thick. OTT makeup has been going on since the Egyptians! Live and let live!

If it is used the right way on a certain feature then someone can look more beautiful and who would not want 2 look more beautiful. It all links to self esteem and i would like every girl 2 have high self esteem as i know how it feels when its low and a person canm feel ugly. If it gets them noticed for the right reasons then there is nothing wrong with a bit of make up, if someone fancies them from looks and falls in love with the person then without their makeup they should not care how they look. But at first we know how shallow men can be so it is important to wear it.Although some people are lucky enough to be attractive without it.

Its a cultural thing, also there is a lot of marketing on television that creates a myth in women's minds that they cannot be beautiful without makeup.
Through marketing and tabloids, women are forced to fit into a certain mold... the right makeup, hair and clothes. Celebrities fall for it too. That's why you see so many of them suffering from eating disorders.
A good example would be Kelly Clarkson. When she first started her career she was proud of what she called her, "Ghetto butt." She swore she wouldn't change to satisfy anyone else, look at her today.
Finally, women are often more beautiful without the makeup. We start out beautiful, start putting all the crap on our faces and our skin loses its natural glow to where we are forced to where makeup forever.
Good question.

not everyone is naturally beautiful and anyone with the right make-up and technique can look good . Some women feel more confident wearing make-up. it can mean that you like to look after yourself or it can be a mask to hide behind. Let's face it when there's other women or a bf's ex about we like to put on the war paint!

Make-up enhances your beauty or just worn for fashion or because one is insecure of themselves. I think some people can over do it. They 'say less is more', but i say 'the more the merrior'!
I think you should make the most of what you've got, so make the best of youself everyday wearing mk-up to enhance your beauty.
My sister thinks you should also make the most of what you've got, exactly of what you've got without no mk-up or a small amount of mk-up.
Everyones different just let people get on with it...even if they do look orange lol ;-)

Because without makeup they are not that beautiful. But beauty is only in the eye of the beholder and it's only skin deep. The only thing that makes a person truely beautiful is their inner person. It's in the way they carry themselves, their attitude, and their personality.

I don't wear make-up but I think minimal applications like mascara and lipstick/lipgloss is okay. Many women wear make-up to hide all sorts of things; blemishes, scars, low self-esteem, low self confidence. And the thing is when you speak to most men, they don't like make-up at all.
However, when you're out with them, they're more likely to do a double take at a woman who is wearing make-up than one who is not!

Wearing alot of makeup doesn't make you look shallow and it isn't an indicator of being insecure either!!
Don't let other yahoo tell you this....
Some women I heard, wear alot of make-up because they have some features that they can flaunt, it looks good- sometimes it doesn't, and it makes them feel good about themselves.
REMEMBER-Don't ever let anyone else judge you about your looks, you wear it because it makes you feel confident. Screw what everyone thinks about you.

Some women feel to keep up with others if they have bad skin this is the only way, or maybe it's lack of confidence....
