Whe the Iraqi government takes over Iraq. We pulled out of Somalia prematurely, and conditions got worse than they were before we went in. We pulled out of Vietnam prematurely, and conditions got worse than they were when we went in. There is no time limit for war.

Not only did they shoot down democrat's plan for withdrawal, but less than a week later our own generals have said that its time to start a withdrawal.
And all the while the neocon controlled republican party is bashing the democrats when the Dem's were right on target by calling for a withdrawal.
Neocons make me want to puke.

When there is a stable government in Iraq that can deal with the insurgency on its own with minimal assistance from the US.
Anything else, and we're practically begging for the country to become an Islamic Theoracracy. And if you think things are bad there now...

I think it'll be at least another couple of years. I keep hearing "when there is a stable government" but that doesn't look likely. And if you ask a soldier, they will say we shouldn't have been there. I've asked one who's been to Iraq and is still there.
